Our Program

Kids World is dedicated to the Montessori philosophy and method of teaching and learning. The Montessori teaching method was designed and created by Dr. Maria Montessori,  an Italian physician, and visionary educator. The method is based on the observation of children and their development, interests, needs, and characteristics. We create an enriching and calming environment that allows each child to learn and develop at their own pace and in accordance with their needs, interests, and abilities. By working together with children and families we help children acquire a love of learning, and respect for others, along with self-discipline and motivation.

The Montessori classroom and personalized learning experiences are designed to nurture and motivate children in the following ways.

  • Classroom: The Montessori environment differs from a traditional school setting in several significant ways. Under a teacher’s guidance, Montessori’s child-led method encourages curiosity, concentration, and self-motivation.  Mixed-age classes encourage children to learn from and with each other. The older children provide inspiration and motivation to the younger students, while the younger children remind the older students of their responsibility to lead and care for the classroom community. A Montessori infant and toddler classroom is called “The Nido” and it includes children 5 months - 2 1/2 years. The Montessori preschool classroom is called a “primary classroom” and includes children ages 2.5-5 years old.

  • Personalized Learning: The Montessori materials stimulate, challenge, and encourage a child’s natural curiosity and developing intellect. Children learn and develop new skills and knowledge when they are ready, rather than when they reach a certain age as in a traditional classroom. This personalized learning motivates and engages students as the curriculum is tailored to their individual needs and readiness.
